About Roadside Station Nakatsu

About Roadside Station Nakatsu

Roadside Station Nakatsu is a compound facility that opened in April 2014. We have a large parking lot and 24-hour restrooms standard for roadside station, and we provide a moment of rest for drivers on long journeys. In addition, several facilities have been provided, including a restaurant for dining, a commercial museum where you can buy fresh vegetables and locally-made products, and an information center for learning about the region; these facilities allow you to use this place as a location to share in the appeal of the region.

Greetings

Nakatsu City is home to "Kuroda Kanbei," who became a hot topic in the historical drama, "Maeno Ryosawa," a Nakatsu domain doctor who played a central role in compiling "Kaitai Shinsho," and "Fukuzawa Yukichi," who everyone knows as the face of the Ichiman Yen note. It is a historic town where many great people were involved.
Yabakei, one of Japan's New Three Scenic Views, has been designated as a Japan Heritage Site for its "Yabakei excursion - walking along the path of a picture scroll of landscapes drawn on the earth;" the castle town of Nakatsu, as well as the surrounding area, has many popular spots of scenery, history, and culture.
Roadside Station Nakatsu is a facility filled with local charm, including a product store that sells vegetables, fruits, and seafood that are the blessings of this land, and a restaurant that serves dishes that incorporate local ingredients.
We sincerely look forward to your visit as a base for local sightseeing and as a resting place where you can take a break during your trip.
